Why we feel the *effect of weight*.

Did you know that while you are sitting in a chair, lying
on the beach, sleeping, or walking, etc., you are always
accelerating. In fact everything 'resting' on the surface of
the Earth - including people - are in a constant state
of acceleration. The surface of the Earth is constantly obstructing
our natural *gravitational acceleration* toward the center of
the planet. The surface of the Earth must constantly
exert an obstructional force to prevent us or any other object from
falling toward the center of the Earth. The amount of obstructional
force that is exerted is indicated as the object's weight.
Weight is an extremely accurate indication of the amount of
obstructional force that is being exerted. If we were on the moon -
the moon's surface would only need to exert a fraction of the Earth's
gravitational force and therefore we would only weigh that fraction of the
weight that we weigh on Earth. Einstein said we are all constantly
accelerating upward but that is not true - all objects are just being
obstructed from their natural downward acceleration toward the
center of the planet. Remember - any *change in velocity* is a form of
acceleration and all objects on the surface of the earth are constantly
being obstructed from their natural downward gravitational acceleration
toward the center of the earth. If the earth's surface was taking away,
such as jumping off the high board into a swimming pool,
you will immediately become weightless because there is now no
obstructional force preventing your downward gravitational
acceleration. You are now weightless.
