Description: Based Linux release identification
The files that name the operating system: /usr/lib/os-release (the target
 of the /etc/os-release symlink), /etc/issue, /etc/issue.net,
/etc/lsb-release and /etc/motd, carrying the Based Linux name, ID and
version over the Debian or Ubuntu base it is built on.
 .
os-release and lsb-release are rendered at install time from the base's own
os-release, so one package gives Based Linux D13 (trixie) on Debian 13 and
Based Linux U2404 (noble) on Ubuntu 24.04: ID=based, ID_LIKE names the
base, and VERSION_CODENAME stays the base codename so apt-suite scripts
keep working. A base-files upgrade re-renders them through a file trigger.
 .
 base-files owns os-release, issue, issue.net and (on Ubuntu) lsb-release
and rewrites os-release on every upgrade, so this package diverts those
with dpkg-divert: the base's copies stay readable at the same paths under
a .debian suffix and come back when the package is removed or purged.
