                              PerfSuite
                              ---------

PerfSuite software is a collection of tools, utilities, and libraries that can
be helpful in performance analysis for a wide variety of applications.

The overriding goal in PerfSuite design and development is an emphasis on
simplicity, comprehensibility, productivity, and robustness. In PerfSuite, the
prime focus areas are the user and their application, not any particular tool
or infrastructure. PerfSuite is not a research effort, rather it is a means to
help people to get their job done more quickly, efficiently, and with a minimum
of obstacles in their way to learn about the performance of their applications.

PerfSuite was developed at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's
National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA).

PerfSuite is documented at the project Web sites, located at:

                  http://perfsuite.ncsa.uiuc.edu/
                  http://perfsuite.sourceforge.net/

Continued development of PerfSuite is dependent on your feedback and support.
We are very interested in hearing about user experiences (both good and bad!).
It's also helpful to know both who is using PerfSuite and where, so please feel
free to contact us if you are using PerfSuite in your work and find it useful;
this type of feedback is critical in ensuring future support for development
and enhancements.

This software is OSI Certified Open Source Software. OSI Certified is a
certification mark of the Open Source Initiative.

The development of PerfSuite has been partially funded by the National Science
Foundation under grants CCF-0444407 and OCI-0722072.
