Print Server FAQ
A
Print Server is used for connecting a printer to a network. It
enables users to share the printing function. The print server
supports multiple network protocols and multiple users. Print
servers can be an external unit connected to the printer with a
cable or an internal unit built into the printer.
2. How to load my Print Server to its default value?
There
are two different procedures for load default. If the reset button
is built-in your print server, please refer to below instruction for
the load default procedure,
1.
Power off the print server.
2.
Press and hold the reset button and then power on the print server.
3.
Release the reset button until the Status LED blinks rapidly.
4.
Wait for the Status LED flashes normally; the default setting will
be restored.
Or,
you can use the web management of print server to bring the print
server back to its default value.
3. Why can't I save my configuration?
There
should be over one piece of NICs used in your computer. Please leave
only one NIC when you configure the print server. And then you will
save its configuration.
4. Could my multiple function printer apply to ZOT print server?
5. What benefits does the Print Server have?
(1) Not many printers come from the factory with an built-in
Ethernet adapter, and those cost are relatively expensive
(2) Only 1/3 cost from HP, Axis, Intel …etc
(3) Prevents print jobs from slowing down the network by offloading
the activity from the general file server
(4) Eliminates the need to have a complete computer managing the
printer
(5) Protect your investment
with firmware upgrades
(1) Support all network environments; e.g. Windows,
UNIX, Linux, Mac OS X 10
Multi-protocol
support; e.g. TCP/IP, LPR/LPD
(3) Easy to change printers without paying for a new
networking hardware
(4) Options of attaching several printers, and ability
to network printers not designed for networking
(1) Easy setup, configuration,
management, upgrades and
trouble-shooting
(2) Compatible with current printers in
the market
(3) Architectonic design – mini size
(4) Friendly WEB management with Setup
