BUGS.TXT

Known bugs and problems (in 0.91d / known by Brian or Eric):
* = bug which is definitely still in 0.91i

1. Will, under some circumstances, fail to format due to dma overruns.
(should happen much less often in 0.91 - please report remaining errors!)

2. The FAT32 format may not be compatible with MS's operating systems.
Any suggestions on what is wrong are welcome. Maybe fixed in 0.91h?

3.* There should be error handling that allows you to retry when format or
disk read / write errors happen (beyond the default "try 5 times").

4.* CD-ROMs and network drives give the same error message when you
try to format them. Could be done in a nicer way (Joe C. knows how).

5. Floppy format to other sizes than the drive default sometimes fails.
(seems to work much better in 0.91c - FINALLY: Had forgotten 720k-in-
1440k case and non-standard sectors-per-track handling was broken...)

6. Format after FDISK screwed up (uformat mode active here) - should no
longer happen since version 0.91d!? Is cluster size / DPB / BPB okay?
Looks as if sometimes the kernel (int 21.440d.?860) returns 0 cluster
size while other BPB values are all okay!?

Please use the www.FreeDOS.org Bugzilla bug tracking system to find
other known bugs and to report new bugs! Please report suggestions to
the maintainer (see the LSM file) and the contributor (if you know that
the bug is related to something contributed by a certain person). See
the news.txt file and the sources for a list of changes and contributions.
