medit (1.3.3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Bring back the terminal pane, which was a python plugin on top of the GTK+2
vte and went away with python. It is a builtin plugin over vte-2.91 now:
the same shell, the same ten color schemes and context menu, plus a Tools
menu entry bound to Ctrl+` and a preferences page for the shell, the font
    and the scheme.
  * Build against GTK+3 by default, and make the medit metapackage install
    medit-gtk3. A system already on medit-gtk2 stays there; -DGTK_VERSION=2
still builds against GTK+2, which has no terminal pane because vte dropped
    GTK+2 in 0.30.
  * Add packaging for Fedora (rpm/medit.spec) and Arch (arch/PKGBUILD).
  * Fix the About and Credits dialogs coming up untranslated: the glade era
left msgids the plain C code no longer asks for, in every catalog.
  * Fix the warnings gcc 14 and LTO report.

medit (1.3.2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Build the dialogs with GtkBuilder. The interfaces are .ui files inside the
resource bundle now, which retires tools/glade2c.py and the hand written
libglade parser it fed — 3341 lines of our own code replaced by what gtk
    has shipped since 2.12.
  * Take the menu descriptions and the credits text from the resource bundle as
well. With that the build needs no python at all: the generators under
tools/ and api/ are gone, and python3 is out of the build dependencies.
  * Compress the resources: 711 KB of interface descriptions become 134 KB.
  * Fix a crash when opening the user tools preferences page, and give every
GtkBuilder an owner — eleven of them were leaked, seven on every call of
    the dialog they belonged to.

medit (1.3.1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Replace autotools with CMake. The build is out of source, so a gtk-2 and a
gtk-3 build directory can live side by side; the set of installed files is
    unchanged.
  * Split the package in three: medit is now a metapackage depending on
medit-gtk2 | medit-gtk3, and those two carry the actual builds. They are
mutually exclusive, so a system runs whichever gtk version its user picked.
  * Fix the pkg-config name asked for by GTK_VERSION=4 (gtk4, not gtk+-4.0),
and point README at the git repository instead of a mercurial checkout.

medit (1.3.0) unstable; urgency=low

  * Port to GTK+3. medit now builds and runs against gtk-3.24 while still
    building against gtk-2.24; GTK_VERSION=3 selects the gtk-3 build, gtk-2
stays the default. Both builds were verified.
  * Drop the platform code that is not supported any more: windows, macos
and darwin, along with the python and lua bindings, the html widget and
the tests. The about, credits and license dialogs are plain C now
    instead of glade.
  * Move the sources under src/, switch to -std=gnu17 and remove ~2000 lines
    of dead code.
