iptraf version 3.0.0

What's iptraf?

Users of iptraf can observer the network traffic on the available NICs.
All IP traffic including ports are shown in a table.

Installation:

Copy the folders /check, /config, /doc und /opt to the /fli4l 3.0.0
folder.

In file /config/iptraf.txt set OPT_IPTRAF to 'yes'. If IPTRAF_BACKUP
is set to 'yes' also, the config files and filters of iptraf are saved in
IPTRAF_BACKUP_DIR if a reboot is triggered.

Create a new floppy with mfli4l - reboot fli4l - pray -
start iptraf ;)

Deinstallation:

Set OPT_IPTRAF='no' in /config/iptraf.txt

FAQ
-----------------------

F: How do i use iptraf ?

A: You start iptraf via console. To use the console, you can either connect a
keyboard and screen to th fli4l (=bad), or you connect via ssh (=better).

F: What needs to be checked when connecting with ssh ?

A: If you want to use iptraf with an ssh console under Windows, it is _strongly_
recommended you'll install putty.
These are my changes to the default settings in putty 0.51 :
Terminal : Use background colour to erase screen
Keyboard : Function keys and keypad => Linux
Apperance	: Change... => Font: Terminal,
				   Type: Standard,
				   Size: 14
Connection	: Terminal-type string => linux

Don't forget to save your settings ;)

F: OK, I've started iptraf, but i don't get it how it works. Help ?

A: The author of iptraf has written a very good documentation for his program:
http://iptraf.seul.org/
Sometimes the server seems to be down, so be patient or try google.

F: HELP !!! I've read the whole FAQ, tried everything, but it doesn't work :(
